Sydenham High School - An Independent School, 4 - 18-year-old Girls. At Sydenham High School , the slogan, Fear Zero, underpins everything we're doing. With freedom of spirit, the ability to face chances, a clear moral conscience and a global outlook, our pupils are optimistic and resilient.
Sydenham High School students, which is a fitting representation of a Sydenham High girl, have been described as having 'self-confidence without arrogance.' Every day, Sydenham High School pupils make us immensely proud. We were pleased to see the girls achieving record breaking GCSE and A Level results last summer, as well as Khadijah Mellah winning the Magnolia Cup and Young Sportswoman of the Year on the basis of this.
Sydenham High School inspire students to find their voice and get involved. Year 9, mentored by year 12, accomplished this by the GDST VoiceBox, our Deputy Head Pastoral's brainchild, with aplomb. Pupil-led cultures, from the African-Caribbean Community to our Inclusive Society, are common. With our Eco Council seeking to top their Silver Eco Schools status with a Green Flag Award, pupils push environmental reform; declining plastic consumption and our carbon footprint.
With Sydenham High School bespoke Socrates curriculum, term lecture series, frequent author visits and more, Sydenham High School encourage a life-long enjoyment of learning through academic enrichment. Students hop at the opportunity to partake in the United Nations Model, and our word of the week program enriches the language of students alongside our strong culture of the value of literacy.
