Emmaus SLC - Brixton: Charity in Brixton at Unit 1 & 2, Fairfax House, Overton Rd, London SW9 7JR, England. Our Emmaus shop in Brixton, was opened 2013 with the help of Lambeth Local Authority, with the aim of working together to overcome homelessness and social exclusion while using our voice to effect social change. Emmaus SLC supports more than 100 homeless people in full time accommodation, with plans to expand further over the next five years. Our residents, who are known as ‘companions’, receive not just a bed, but full time work within the community. Support the work of Emmaus SLC by popping in to one of our shops! We accept a variety of donations and can also arrange a home pick-up for any large goods. Feel good shopping that gives back. Barnardo believed that every child deserved the best possible start in life, whatever their background. This philosophy still guides the charity today. Barnardo's works closely with families offering financial aid to families when the breadwinnera cannot work because of illness or accident. A a quarter of our work involved helping children stay with their own families.  

Traid Charity Shop in Brixton 2 Acre Ln, London SW2 5SG, England, working to stop clothes from being thrown away, selling secondhand clothes, aiming to improve workers' lives in the global textile industry. Traid turn clothes waste into funds and resources to reduce the environmental and social impacts of our clothes. Clothes are given to TRAID as cast offs and waste are transformed into high quality stock for our charity shops. TRAID hand sorts donations at our warehouse in London selecting stock for our shops based on condition, quality and style. It’s a major process which sees our team sorting, hanging, tagging, pricing and merchandising around 11,000 garments per week to reuse and resell.

Kids West is a local Western Sydney children’s charity that raises funds for medical equipment, research, and the development of childhood accident awareness and prevention programs.Founded by Trevor Oldfield and Professor Reuben Dubois of Westmead Hospital, Kids West have been supporting paediatric and neonatal intensive care units across Western Sydney since 1991.We’re a no frills charity that bridges the gap in hospital funding to provide vital life-saving equipment to Western Sydney hospitals, supporting local families when it’s needed the most. So far we’ve donated in excess of $5.2 million throughout Western Sydney!
